If‍‌‍‍‌ you want to maintain suitability between different systems, decide what version of vCard should be used: 2.1 for older systems and 3.0 or 4.0 for modern clients. I have done a test of Softaken Excel to vCard Converter to create vCard files that match the targets like Outlook and iPhone. The tool’s export choices gave me the choice to select versions as a way of compatibility. In the case of Batch Excel to vCard Conversion, I made different sets for various platforms to be free from import failures. It is always advisable to export just a sample vCard and then check field mapping and change it before you proceed with the full export. Making sure of the correct vCard version helped to prevent the reducing of fields, and, at the same time, it was possible to save notes and secondary numbers for cross-platform ‍‌‍‍‌imports.
