My CSV contacts are not opening in my phone, how to convert them?

I exported all my contacts from Outlook to a CSV file, but when I try to import it into my Android phone, it says the format is not supported. I tried editing the file manually but it didn’t work. Can someone tell me how to safely convert it without losing any data?
